Gerris Wilkinson is a starting linebacker on the Super Bowl XLII Champion New York Giants.  He was drafted by the Giants in the 3rd round in 2006. Gerris played college ball for Georgia Tech.

Gerris is a native of northern California, born in Oakland. He played at Skyline High School in Oakland, CA, where he was a Super Prep 1st-team All-America selection as a senior. He was rated the 7th-best linebacker in the West Region by Prep Star and also earned 2nd-team All-State and 1st-team All-City and All-East Bay honors in his final season.

He played in 50 games, starting in 37, for the Wrambling Wreck and had 253 tackles (121 solo), finishing 14th on the school’s career list with 12.5 sacks for minus 83 yards. His 38 stops for losses of 141 yards rank 7th on the school’s record list. Gerris was team captain in his last 2 years and was a 2-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection. In 2005, Wilkinson became only the 3rd player in the last 15 years to lead Georgia Tech in tackles in back-to-back seasons.

Moved into a starting role due to the season ending injury to Osi Umenyiora, Gerris returns in 2008 to start at the outside linebacker spot. He is looking to help the Giants return to the Super Bowl.
